Situated 20 minutes North from Llety Ceiro by car, Machynlleth is the old capital of Wales, and a renowned market town with an eclectic mix of facilities, lots of antique and locally owned shops. Visit on a Wednesday to enjoy the market buzz - a market which has been held every week for almost 700 years! For a culture boost visit the Museum of Modern Art and History buffs should pay a visit to the Owain Glyndwr Centre (Wales’ first parliamentary building). During May Day bank holiday weekend the town hosts the Machynlleth Comedy Festival renowned through the UK as a great weekend experience.

Travelling between Llety Ceiro and Machynlleth you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Dyfi Estuary, for avid bird watchers you should definitely visit the RSPB Reserve at Ynys-Hir  and the Dyfi Osprey Project.

The Dyfi Osprey Project especially is a fantastic location to view the reserve and the ospreys from the end of March to September. Family friendly and also wheelchair accessible, hours can be spent watching the ospreys from the 360 Observatory - you can enjoy the live stream from the Dyfi Osprey website, and keep up to date with the latest drama in our Welsh osprey family.

The Dyfi valley  is renowned for its exciting mountain biking trails and competitions. To the north of Machynlleth you can find the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) a hub for renewable and sustainable ways of living, as well as the gorgeous Corris Steam Railway.
